So often we feel that we are the only ones endlessly waiting for things to come to pass in our lives. We wonder if God truly understands and relates to the pain of waiting,to the grief of longing for something,to the wondering if we will ever receive our heart’s desire. As we fidget and maneuver our hearts and emotions to find a comfortable place in the midst of the waiting,we once again ponder how God feels.Has He ever had to wait for anything? The answer is yes!He waits for us to be reconciled to Him.He waits for us to love Him the way He loves us.He waits for us to walk in obedience to Him.
Oh,my friends,God is well acquainted with waiting! He waits for us to become all He created us to be and acquire. He is our portion and reward, and we are His joy.He constantly cares about our welfare. He waits to exalt Himself and reveal His goodness to us.He wants to be our greatest joy so that our joy can never be taken away.

Start Your Day with God

We’re told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it sets our bodies on the right track for the rest of the day. It fuels us with the energy, regulates our systems and sets us on our way fully equipped to meet the day’s tasks. Breakfast provides our physical food.
But what about spiritual food? That too is needed in the morning to equip us to face the rest of the day. Spending time with God drinking in His goodness, receiving His instructions for the day,and experiencing a healthy portion of His love gets us ready. As He reminds us who we are in Him,and how we can contribute to furthering His kingdom,we are charged with a sense of purpose that empowers us to face the day with strength and joy.
You matter to God.He loves you.He is deeply interested in all that concerns you.How powerful is that! These simple facts will have an amazing impact on your heart and soul. They straighten your back, lift your head, and help you walk in authority and faith. His love fills you with gladness.
Yes,how you start your day has everything to do with how the rest of it will go.As God becomes your daily portion, you are strengthened for the day…and the days to come.

The young lions suffer want and hunger;but those who seek the Lord lack no good. (Psalm 34:10 NIV)

Want and hunger are two things that can be unmanageable and unending. They can make us question the goodness of God.Yet “every good and perfect gift is from above”-that is His promise to us (James 1:17). In the light of that,I choose to accept that I have all I need in this instant. I need no more,no less. Those who are not spiritually mature have little interest in mastering their appetites and the discipline of self-control,but people who pursue God are groomed for maturity.God is faithful to supply all the needs of those who follow Him.He refuses to withhold what He knows we need, what He knows is good for us.Although He believes in discipline, like an indulgent parent He also believes in extravagant rewards. If something is good for us,we will have it.En d of discussion. If something is not good for us,well then,we can forget about it.God is not in the business of doling out gifts He would later regret giving. No, He rejoices over every heavenly surprise He bestows because He knows it is good thing. He knows that He will reap the glory while we enjoy being blessed. And that is very wonderful thing.

In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:12-13 ESV)
There is a secret to navigating through this life minus emotional drama. It is called knowing where our strength and satisfaction truly lie. I tend not to face hard times well. I rail, I complain, I question what God is up to. I compare myself to people who seem to be doing well even though they don’t care about God or seek His agenda.

My unhappiness takes me in a myriad of directions that thoroughly exhaust me and leaves me without answers and satisfaction. I do the dance between extremes in my life until I am brought to the end of myself, which is exactly where I need to be to get to the right place. Eventually I crawl back to the center of God’s heart. It is quiet there. And in the peace I find His reassurance that He will never leave me or forsake me. He will not disappoint me. He will cover me and fulfill my longings.

He gives me grace for the day, and I find I have not perished after all. I am standing strong in Him. I can do this-but only with His help. My ego suffers the blow that I am not enough to sustain myself, and when I finally welcome the news I feel such a relief, such sweet peace it defies my understanding.

Dear heavenly Father, forgive me for trying to go on without You again. Now I am back. With You all things are possible. Remind me that it is best to wait on You and lean on Your strength. Help me remember that wisdom when I’m considering fighting my own battles or blaming You for my wounds. Grant me Your strength as I lay down my weapons and take refuge in You. In Jesus’ name. Amen

How to get past disappointment, finding hope.

“Come now,let us reason together”,says the Lord.
“Though your sins are likely scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool”.
Isaiah 1:18(NIV)
There is no failure, mistake,or stain too deep to be redeemed by the hand of our loving and merciful God.In the midst of our disappointments and failures He invites us to come and discuss the matter with Him.He is a reasonable God.In the atmosphere of truth He will help us get to the bottom of the problem and find a solution. He isn’t put off by sin as much as He is put off by a lack of willingness on our part to own our sins and errors. If we will be honest,He will show us the way.But if we are proud,He will resist reaching out.
God gives grace to the humble, to those willing to come before Him and stretch out their dirty hands asking for cleansing.A contrite and remorseful spirit brings out the tenderness in Him.He doesn’t want to rub salt in our wounds or even accuse us.He wants to gently wash us,to wipe away the pain and disappointments. He wants to renew our hope.By His Spirit He will remove the stains from our souls and make us new.

While Joseph was there in the prison, the Lord was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden.

Genesis 39:21

Does singleness sometimes feel like a jail to you? God is with you! He’s still covering you with His favor and love. Though single life may, at times, seem to be a “hard time” for something that’s not a crime, nothing could be further from the truth.

In our alone time God sometimes does His best work in us. He reveals Himself in sweet ways that we wouldn’t experience in any other place or season of life. So we can treasure this time and place we’re in. it is often far too short-lived and underappreciated until it is over. God has His own way of getting our attention and setting us apart for Him. How long will we have to wait before we’ll be released? As long as it takes for Him to finish what He’s begun in us. Then and then will we move to the next stage of living and loving. In the end, we’ll thank our heavenly Father for all His refining work. In the meantime, let’s study to be good students of what He is teaching so we can pass this test with flying colors.

In what ways do you feel hindered in your life? What could God be pointing out during this time? What test has been difficult for you to pass?

Dear heavenly Father, help me not fight this time of testing and waiting. Show me the good so I can embrace where I am now. I want to nurture a grateful heart. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Learning To Rest In Him

Reflecting and personalizing Psalm 23 today.

The Lord is my Shephard: He leads me 2 good pasture where I find good things to feed myself spiritually, emotionally & physically.

I shall not want: With God leading me He will lead me to where I will be filled. I will not want for any good thing.

He makes me lie down in green pastures: He leads me to rest where I will be surrounded by things that nourish me.

He leads me beside still waters: He leads me past the storms & tempest to a place of peace & tranquility.

He restores my soul: God will not leave me fragmented and unresolved. He completes the work of making me whole.

He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake: He makes me right with Himself to show His goodness 2 the world.

Even though I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me: I have nothing to fear, period.

Your rod & your staff, they comfort me. His correction and leadership make me feel secure, surrounded and loved.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; He will frustrate my enemies with his blatant care for me.

You anoint my head with oil: my cup overflows: He fills me with Himself and all of His virtues until I can’t contain it all!

Surely goodness & mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: God will never leave me, He will follow me all of my life.

And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever: I have an eternal home. I will spend time with the Lord forever.

Your turn! Make it your own…

Thoughts on Life, Love and Men from In Search of the Proverbs 31 Man

A Man will receive his assignment in life before receiving his wife. This is Gods perfect order for a man’s life
We have all been given dreams. Making them come to life is where the dragon slaying & damsel saving adventure begins.
A strong man knows a strong woman does not diminish him or Gods’ call on his life but inspires him to locate & reach his goals.
Women need men who will seek Gods’ face & secure their future by obedience to His instructions.
The innate desire to lead should never be squelched in any man. It should be celebrated and refined into a servant leader.
A sense of divine assignment should fuel a man &woman to respect one another’s gifts & liberate one another two fulfill their callings. A servant leader man regards the achievements of his wife not as competition but as a valuable addition to his own.
Man and women are different & those differences become their strengths when balancing the ball of life between them.
The world needs more men who are willing to be transformed by God and plugged into His Wisdom.
A Proverbs 31 man considers the woman in his life to be an equal but unique partner. Together they are a divine power couple.
God will never give a woman a calling that is in competition or conflict with her husband’s life assignment.
When it comes to relationships God is not the author of confusion; the human ego is.
A woman can’t change her man. It is his love for her that does the transformation. Be a woman who inspires change.
A man gains the trust of his wife & respect of his community because he follows through & remains committed to his commitments.
The spiritual responsibility of a man is a matter of life and death. Evil flourishes when good men do nothing.
A man is called to strive to remain pure in heart & action, to be unapologetic on his godly stance, yet be full of mercy & grace.
It is the responsibility of every man to lovingly keep his wife in spiritual order so she can reap the full blessings of God.
Women who strive to take over the role of leader in the relationship will suffer because they will be out of order spiritually.
Submission is borne out of trust because the actions of the man reflect his intentions for his wife’s best welfare.
The Proverbs 31 Man recognizes the needs of his wife as an opportunity to bless her and he meets her needs joyfully.
The man who responds to God’s design by pursuing the woman he loves will also honor his responsibilities in covenant.
A man who is passive in his pursuit of you will be passive in his pursuit of all things concerning life. Character is not compartmentalized.
If he is not coming after you it is because he doesn’t want you or he has unfinished business. Neither is a good option for you.
A Proverbs 31 man considers the cost of a commitment to the woman in his life and gladly pays it.
Romance is biblical. God is a shameless lover. He is not inhibited when it comes to expressing His love for us, neither is a Proverbs 31 Man.
Good lovers are not selfish lovers. They seek ways to please the beloved & refuse to be satisfied until the beloved is fulfilled. They are Proverbs 31 Man.
Many men appear to be desirable at first glance, but the man who fears the Lord is to be praised. His integrity endures time.
Hope the men have been inspired and the sisters can encourage their brothers to be the best that they can be. Love to you all!
